Twilight Rationalization

So I've heard some people say that the Twilight books are stupid and yes, I know they were written for teenagers and I'm closer to being 30 than a teenager. Well I'd like to rationalize my addiction to those books. When you're a stay-at-home mom with a 20 month old little girl and you live in a small town in North Dakota where the most exciting thing that happens are the snow storms that blow threw every week, it's nice to be able to let go of reality even if it's for a short time and it's about teenagers who are vampires and werewolves!

Twilight, Love It!

So I decided to read the Twilight saga after I kept hearing how great it was and seeing the previews for the movie. I had to see if it was really as great as everyone had been saying. And my conclusion was,YES! I started reading the books about a week and a half ago and I finished the last one today. There were quite a few nights of staying up until 1 am reading. It was so hard to put them down. I absolutely loved them! So now that I have read the books I have to see the movie and I can't wait for the other movies to come out!

Fun Little Christmas

Well, again this holiday, it was just Chris, Kyla and I. It was pretty low key but we still had a lot of fun. We didn't take a lot of pictures because one of our presents was a video camera so we played with that a lot. But the pictures we did take, were taken with my new camera that Chris got me. I'm really glad he got me a camera because I love to take pictures and well, I broke our other one about a week before Christmas. Turns out that cameras, or anything electronic, doesn't fair so well when left in the car over night in -20 degree temperatures. This Christmas was all about cameras though, it was kind of funny. We got a video camera, a regular camera and a web cam. The web cam is way cool! Chris' brother (Thanks Shawn!) got them for everyone in the family since we all live so far away from each other. It's really nice, we've been able to see Chris' family in the south and our family and friends back home in Idaho.

But Kyla had the best time! She was a little apprehensive about opening her presents because all week we had been telling her not to touch the presents. So when we told her she could open them, she wasn't sure what to do. She got a ton of presents! She's so spoiled! That's mainly our fault but she's worth it. She did get a lot of books from her Uncle Shawn & Aunt Kara, she loves to read! And Chris' dad, the wonderful man that he is (can you here the sarcasm?), got her these foam puzzle pieces that interlock. There are 36 pieces in each package, he got her five packages, and each piece has about 2-3 little pieces within them. So all together I get to pick up hundreds of these little tiny puzzle pieces all over the house every day! Fun for me! But she loves them, so I can't complain too much.

All in all, we had a great Christmas and couldn't have asked for more!
