Warm Weather!!

Today it was 11 degrees outside! Yeah!! So some of you might think we're crazy for getting excited about 11 degrees, especially those in California. But for the last 2 weeks we have been in the negatives, some days it reached -43 degrees with the windchill. So when we went outside today and it said 11 degrees, we cheered! It almost felt warm outside. You can breathe without your insides freezing! And for Christmas its supposed to be 15 degrees, woohoo!

Someone is Sabotaging Our Christmas!

Well not really, it just seems like it. This is our 3rd Christmas tree. The first one was live and the day after we got it home it died. It was totally brown and I was worried about it catching on fire and excuse me, but when you pay $40 for a tree, you expect it to live a little longer than day. So we took it back and they gave us a new one. Well last Sunday, the day of the blizzard, Kyla and I were sitting on the couch relaxing and the next thing you know, she pulled the tree down on top of the couch! The tree was so heavy it broke the tree stand so I couldn't stand it back up and Chris wasn't home. I finally got it to lean back up against the wall but the damage was done. There was water everywhere and a bunch of ornaments were broken. Two of my poor Tinkerbells don't have wings, another one has a broken wand and our little ginger bread man looks like somone bit of his arm and leg! And that's just to name a few. So on Tuesday we decided to go get another tree, this time we got an artificial one. I don't have to worry about watering it, or it dying or catching the house on fire. And if Kyla knocks it down, we can just stand it back up!
Then there is the issue of our outdoor lights. If you know Chris, you know that he is fanatic about his Christmas lights. I know that one day we will be the Griswalds of the neighborhood, he even admits to that. Anyway, a couple days after Chris put them up, a few strands burnt out. We finally got those fixed. Then last Saturday, a whole part of icicle lights went out. Before he could fix them, the tractor that plowed the snow from our front door after the blizzard, ripped our extension cord in half! We haven't fixed them yet so Chris is a little down that his lights don't work but hopefully they will by this weekend.
As you can see, this is why we think our Christmas is being sabotaged! ;)

Our Wonderful Blizzard!

So Saturday and Sunday we had a huge blizzard! We could barely see out our front window at home. We had so much snow in front of our door, luckily the management came and dug us out. Oh yeah and the temperature was a chilly -43 degrees with the windchill! Poor Chris had to go to work for a little bit and when he got home he had to dig his way to the garage. He was so cold, he ran inside and jumped in a warm bath. And we're supposed to have another bad storm this weekend. Who decided to move here?!

Winnie the Pooh Live!

Kyla and I went to see Winnie the Pooh Live at the stadium here. I was a little reluctant to take her because she does not like to sit still for very long, most toddlers don't. But she absolutely loved it! She sat in her seat the whole time and she danced and sang. She was so excited to see Mickey Mouse! I am really glad I decided to take her.

Christmas Lights

We went to look at Christmas lights last night. There's a huge park here that you can drive thru and they have a bunch of light displays set up. We thought it would be so much fun for Kyla but just as we were pulling into the park, she fell asleep. She always manages do that. In the center of town there's also a big tractor that they have all lit up, it's pretty cool. Jon Jon, these pictures are for you little man!

Winter Storm

Today we were supposed to have a mild winter storm, a little snow with some light wind. Well it has now turned into a pretty big storm and it looks like this so far. Chris just called me from work and said they just shut down the highway. Oh and by the way, it's only about 20 degrees outside right now but with the windchill, it drops to 9 degrees. So wish us luck!

Our Thanksgiving Holiday

Well, we had a great Thanksgiving. It was quiet, well as quiet as it could be with Kyla running around, but we had a huge dinner. It was just Chris, Kyla and I but I think we made enough food to feed like 6 people. We definitely missed being with our families.

The next day we did some minor shopping, we are not the get up at 4 am type so we went in the middle of the day to avoid the crowds. We got Kyla this little play shopping buggy, it was supposed to be for Christmas but she would not let it go. She's been pushing it around the house since we brought it home. We have to watch out though, she gets a little crazy with her buggy and she will run you over. She could definitely fit in with the 4 am Black Friday crowd.
